Portfolios management is defined as a coordinated collection of strategic processes and decisions that together enable the most effective balance of organisational change and business as usual.
We deliver Foundation, Practitioner and Conversion Courses.
What You Study
Management of Portfolios (MoP) approaches the management of change projects and programmes from a strategic viewpoint. It provides an overview of all change activities
including what is in the portfolio, what it is costing, what risks are being faced, what progress is being made, and what the impact is on business as usual and the organisation’s strategic objectives.
Individuals and organisations are much more cautious with their investments these days. Questions such as: Can we afford this? Can we take the risk? Should we be doing this? Are all being asked of change initiatives (projects and programmes). As such, the days of projects being funded without having a clear understanding of the full costs, benefits and risk are over. This is where MoP comes in.
MoP helps organisations answer a fundamental question ‘Are we sure this investment is right for us and how will it contribute to our strategic objectives?’
Duration and Attendance
There are two levels within MoP:
Foundation and Practitioner. We deliver a 3-day Foundation course, followed by the 2-day Practitioner course.
Most candidates opt to complete the Practitioner level over the full five days, while others complete the 3-day Foundation course and return at a future date for a 2-day Foundation to Practitioner conversion course.
Scheduled open courses run on a regular basis at our purpose built training facility, Carnegie Conference Centre, in Dunfermline with on-site hotel accommodation available if required.
In addition, closed courses tailored specifically for teams, can be delivered on-site at client premises throughout the UK or at Carnegie Conference Centre.
