COURSE INFORMATION
This course will develop your skills and competence to a higher level across a wide range of modern engineering systems including electrical, mechanical, and mechatronics acting as a route to further study or employment. It's suitable if you are already working in the engineering industry and looking to progress towards professional engineering status.
HCENS
- Principles of engineering systems
- Engineering measurement and systems monitoring
- Engineering Maths 1 and 2
- Dynamics
- Graded unit 1 (Eng Systems)
- Communication: practical skills
- Engineering communication
- Thermofluids
- Materials selection
- One year full-time
One of the following:
- Two Highers at Level C or above, one of which must be Maths with the other being from Physics, Chemistry, or Technological Studies
- Foundation Apprenticeship: Engineering SCQF Level 6
- National Certificates: Electrical Engineering and Engineering Systems SCQF Level 6 (note, progression unit Maths: Tech 2 must be achieved)
- National Certificate: Mechanical Engineering (including SWAP Access to Engineering) SCQF Level 6 (note, progression unit Maths: Tech 2 must be achieved)
- Another relevant engineering course at SCQF Level 6 (incorporating Maths: Tech 1 and 2) accompanied with a good academic reference recommending articulation to a higher level
- Relevant industry experience and/or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis
In addition, internal applicants will also require a positive Internal Learner Reference (ILR).
- HND: Engineering Systems (with Renewables) SCQF Level 8
- Fife College has defined articulation routes in place for this course
