COURSE INFORMATION

This short course is designed to update experienced gas engineers and will enable you to prove your competence in the ACS assessments in the field of commercial catering equipment namely Commercial Cookers, Ovens, Grills etc. - Café Sets and Natural Draught Fryers.

The Commercial Catering Appliances qualification covers the following core competencies:

  • Appliance installation
  • Appliance servicing
  • Checking and setting operational and safety components
  • Recognition of appliance defects
  • Flueing and ventilation requirements
  • 1 day training and 1 day assessment
  • Commercial Catering Appliances is delivered in a classroom/workshop environment, where you will also be assessed on your knowledge of legislative requirements and practical competency
  • The awarding body for this course is BPEC
  • National Gas Training and Assessment Centre, Dunfermline Campus
  • The pre-requisite qualification for these assessments is CCCN1 (Commercial Catering Core Gas Safety) or COCCCN1 (Changeover from CCN1 to Commercial Catering Core Gas Safety)
  • At a later date you may wish to extend your skills in domestic appliances, LPG or commercial/industrial gas installations
