COURSE INFORMATION

This course is suitable for skilled plumbing and/or heating engineers, wishing to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and awareness of relevant legislation to allow competent and trouble free installation, commissioning and fault diagnosis of this type of system.

The course consists of one day training and one day assessment.

Training is a mixture of classroom based theory, facilitated by PowerPoint presentation. This input is backed up with practical demonstrations of fault diagnosis of system components and commissioning/servicing requirements.

Assessment consists of practical tasks in servicing/commissioning different system types. Theory provision is via multiple choice papers.

The course is devised for three separate levels of applicant:

  • Candidates with relevant trade experience such as plumbers, heating and vent engineers and gas engineers
  • Candidates with allied trade qualifications, such as electricians (pipework skills test required)
  • Those with no formal relevant trade qualifications, such as inspectors, designers, architects and manufacturers technical staff (only allows inspection, NOT installation or maintenance of vessels)

On successful completion of this course, you will be qualified to install unvented systems to meet the requirements of Building Reg G3, applicable in England and Wales, as well as Building Standard 4.9 for Scotland.
